Season 1 was better

I wanted more of the slice of life/romance aspect.

i skipped whole show because of that. So far the show went exactly as predicted. Thought i expected Ruti and Van to have a Knot, shame :/

Both seasons had their thing. Season 1 didn't have the tense plot Van gave this season. Van was a decent villain and he did make us squirm like a good villain does. Tho I am still unsatisfied. You can't just make Ruti say her intentions of becoming a Harem member in episode 3 and then not show her lovey dovey or eropoi in any episode. Kuyashii!!

There better conflicts throughout first season and given they know the end result of the hero it felt kind of bad that an ex member of the hero party reaccompanied the hero not to mention they kept the new hero in the dark about it. Finally the elf ruins didn't really get much attention regardless being thrown out there that there is a likely connection to the blessings and monsters getting smarter.

This season was really just about dealing with a religious extremist obsessing on their title "Hero." So ya I completely agree. Each character's development in season 1 was way better too tbh as well and this season sort of kills them even.

If only they give Red and Rit proper wedding day ceremony I would rate this higher than s1 but yeah you're right S1 better. I especially love S1 op and kinda happy they brought it back for the ending.

A few weeks back I felt exactly like most of you. I even commented like on chapter 5 or 6 of this season that the first one was way better.
I actually think first season had a better build up and the first 8-10 chapters were great, but really disliked the ending (last 2-3 chapters) because of many issues, some of you have mentioned here in the comments, but mostly nothing made sense and we never even got to know what that bad guy wanted to achieve there.
This season instead started VERY weak, and after they finally defeated the Gem tortoise, things started to get better and these last 5-4 chapters were great. It was all in general a good conclusion, and I can see a season 3 coming with a ship where the 2 heroes stand on... demon lord is still alive, and remember what Ruti said : "I am next".... I really wish for Ruti to find her own happiness as well ^^ (and she can force Van to make for everything up after having been such an annoying brat)

I'm honestly happy that Van was talk no jutsu'd, he really felt like he deserved his redemption. He was simply raised and guided incorrectly. He's still a child.

Lavender, on the other hand, I wouldn't have minded at least seeing getting ye olde ora ora treatment.

My case, I knew about Van since Season 1 because I read the Light Novels. It was why I wasn’t bothered when Ruti said she quit being the Hero.

He needed his redemption since there is no way we want Ruti to return being the Hero. Plus, the Demons are still scheming something.

yea Van especially got off too light for the way he was acting for quite a while not only in the village but way before that "Hero" aha suuuuure X doubt that being said the Rid x Red moments where nice with a bit of Ruti sprinkles around the rest was meh at best

Van tried to force all of Zoltan to join the army because his "Blessing" deems them lazy...Lavender's a dangerous being disguised as a fairy.....what the f***, WHY LET THEM LIVE?!

Ruti had her issues in S1, and it was questionable whether she should live, but she NEVER did any of what Van did. Only thing Ruti's guilty of is overworking herself, going likely months without eating, sleeping, drinking, or bathing. Does her Hero's Blessing AT LEAST her use the bathroom?

No it didn't lol. The heroes blessing gets rid of all bodily functions that would hinder them. They all feed into one another, so since they never needed to eat or drink they literally wouldn't have anything in their bowels to get rid; therefore there's no need to use the bathroom.

Well, at least that's convenient.

So I assume that if hypothetically, if I had that same Blessing, if I tried to eat, at least try to act like I'm enjoying the food and drink and not to offend the host, the Blessing wouldn't allow it because it's not as Lord Demis commands it?

Paradoxe : One is a "Hero" and the other's a Calamity. You could try killing them both but the Calamity would still come back. -___-

There were others but they died, meaning she's the only one left. Calamity Fae can die just like any other.

I wanted them to be killed off last ep but fair enough to the author, this is a better way to end this season

Such methods do exist which can and do work to «redeem» people from being heavy offenders, but, they are not over-night processes, nor do that happen nearly as quickly as was depicted in this animé-series' current season;

Usually it will be through some form of hypno-therapy or similar, but, the subject needs to be in a state of meditation or a near-awake sleep-state; the meditation-version is normally when people wish to engage in self-hypnosis, whilst the near-sleep near-awake state can be «guided» by a qualified guide...

Red and Rit are finally getting married. If nothing else then the confession and the following scene made this season worth watching (and it also made me raise my rating of this season).

Shin no Nakama S2 was not as good as season 1, and there is one big reason for that – “yuusha” Van (and that stupid fairy of his). That insufferable brat almost made the whole season unwatchable for me. I initially thought that he was going to be a side character, but when they decided to make him the centerpiece of the story, I was this close to dropping the anime.

What I want from this anime is some fluff time revolving around Red, Rit, Ruti, and the other wholesome characters. Even the latter half of the anime’s name in English is “I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside”. Then give me a damn quiet life in the countryside story!

I would’ve given Shin no Nakama at least 7.5 if it wasn’t for Van, but since he was a central part of this season, the best I can do is – 6.25/10.

Went into this hoping we got more Red x Rit moments which we kinda did...

But everything else was decent at best lol

Least we surprisingly got a bit of fanservice from Ruti. Wasn't expecting to get a lose of nosebleeds from her, but I at least benefited...now I want more Ruti fanservice with her feet...(nosebleeds) You have a tissue?

For one, I really like Naomi Ozora as Ruti, though it's unfortunate she'll forever be associated with Uzaki due to the hypocritical hate the character has garnered, NTM being the voice of Jahy-sama, Samidare from Biscuit Hammer, Satania from Gabriel Dropout, Maou from Level 1 Maou, and Kiriha from Tsugumomo, as unfortunate as it is, there's no way she's not already typecast to voice loud, obnoxious girls, especially ones who happen to be demons. If Uzaki didn't secure that, it did with Jahy.

She's as typecast as Rina Hidaka is with lolis, Matsuoka voicing self-insert and Kirito clone protagonists, Nobuhiko Okamoto voicing arrogant hotheads, and Ayana Taketatsu drugging people/

something that bugged me about season one was how their whole relationship just fast-forwarded outta the blue, right after that random river picnic scene and I Can't believe I'm saying this, but Tisse in that maido fuku? Absolute perfection! And yeah, I was low-key vibing with Van's character lol. Red and Rit, though... they just don't hit the spot for me.

I need more Tisse in maido fuku 😭😭😭🦀🦀🦀
